FAQ

Velour, fleece or loopback: how do they differ?

Loopback, or French terry, has small loops on the reverse and a flat face. Fleece is loopback brushed inside until the loops turn fluffy, so it holds more warmth. Velour has a short cut pile on the face, which gives its plush feel and sheen.

How does velour wear compared with fleece?

Velour pile can flatten or turn shiny where it rubs, at elbows, cuffs and pocket edges; fleece tends to pill on the brushed side. Fabric, labels, seams and zips are all checked by our in-house team, and what it finds is reflected in the grade.

Why is some cotton blended with polyester?

Polyester helps a cotton knit keep its shape, shrink less and dry faster. The gray, black and blue Burberry Claredon hoodies and the Nike ACG crew are cotton-polyester blends, while the Stone Island, Versace and Scarface hoodies are all cotton.
