Leather, suede and utility cuts

Ralph Lauren launched Polo in New York in 1967. Here, a good part of the selection is cut from hide rather than cloth: calf suede and Polo Sport suede trousers, a Purple Label five-pocket in lambskin and a goat suede blazer with the longer line of a hacking jacket. Buying older suede

Tan and camel, the usual suede shades here, show wear as flattened or shiny nap at the knees, seat and cuffs, and as uneven fading where light has reached them.
